Top 10 Favourite Christmas Movies

December 12, 2010

In no particular order:

1. Elf – “Buddy the Elf, What’s your favourite colur?”! Will Farrell rocks this movie

2. White Christmas – I just watched this today. Classic

3. A Mom For Christmas – this one’s kind of obscure. Olivia Newton John plays a mannequin come to life when a young girl wishes for a mom for Christmas. Classic mannequin-type romance.

4. Santa Claus: The Movie – Dudley Moore plays the neglected elf at the North Pole and heads to the US to join forces with John Lithgow (who does mean and creepy as no one else can). Awesome movie!

5. One Magic Christmas – A tear jerker, but a must see. Mary Steenburgen plays a female-grinch type whose husband is killed just before the holidays. The heartwarming ensues with a visit to the North Pole and she finds her Christmas spirit

6. Love Actually – I just LOVE this movie. Love. It.

7. All I Want For Christmas – Early 90’s Ethan Randall (before he became Ethan Embry…or is it vice versa?) and Thora Birch star in this feel good ‘let’s get our parent’s back together because it’s Christmas’ flick.

8. The Little Drummer Boy – More like a 1/2 hour episode, though it seemed longer when I was younger, they don’t play this much anymore. Too much Jesus I guess. Who would have thought there could be too much Jesus at Christmas?

9. The Santa Clause Trilogy- I’ll watch all three, but the first one was the best.

10. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – Ah, the Griswold’s. No holiday is complete without them.

I just watched Elf on the weekend, this has to be one of Will’s best movies. I’m also adding Home Alone – although I don’t set down to watch it, it gets played on tv and I can’t resist!
