In the Meantime…

August 14, 2013

I’m working on an update of how Molly’s first birthday party turned out last weekend. I have a ton of pictures to edit and have had no time to do that. Someone didn’t give mama long naps on Monday…wonder who that could be…

In the meantime, here’s a cute Molly story, because who doesn’t love one of those?

It’s A’s job to give Molly her evening bath and read her a story or two before I step in for her bedtime nursing session. A while back we picked up some nursery rhyme books and he reads one of them to her along with another story (they’re quite short) each night.
A couple of weeks ago A called me into the room before story time was over. “Listen” he said and started reading Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
“Row row row your boat, gently down the stream” he read.
“Rowrowrow” Molly mimicked. “Rowtowrow”. She did it a few more times and it was the cutest thing ever! Even cuter is that since then, when she picks up a book, any book, she repeats over and over “rowrowrow. Rowrowrow”.
A budding reader in our midst? I sure hope so!

Cute! When did you and your hubby start reading to Molly? I guess my questions is more, when did Molly start to become interested in the books you would read to her?

We started when she was around 3 or 4 months I think. It was just after we moved her to her own room and I wanted to establish a bedtime routine. She really just started paying attention a couple of months ago. She first started noticing the cats in her books and has been interested since then!
