Preserving a Memory

September 28, 2011

Remember this?

It’s the flower A gave me after our first official date 🙂

Seeing as how I’m a complete sap for romance, and this was the first flower anyone had ever given me on a date (I think I knew then that this would be something special), I of course kept it and dried it out.

My intention was to buy a shadow box and frame it, but that’s easier said than done. I had a specific idea as to how I wanted it to look and couldn’t find anything, anywhere, that suited my vision. Finally, after months and months of searching, I found the right frame! IKEA pulls through again!

I love it! It’s simple,  elegant and meaningful, but inexpensive to create. $10 for the frame, and the cost of a flower.

And the preservation of the memory?

Priceless.

Aw I love this. I kept flowers too from mine and hubby’s first date. I loved that you framed this!
