How Does Your Garden Grow?

June 29, 2011

Just a few short days after transplanting and sowing, I went out last Monday morning to find this:

The cucumbers were starting to come up! So exciting! I’d followed the instructions for planting, but there was a small part of me that just wasn’t sure if it would work or not.

When I got home after work, I found that the rest of the cucumbers were sprouted, and had grown enormously throughout the day:

A closer inspection found that the zucchini was starting to come up as well:

Since then, over the past week, the peas have all sprouted, as have the carrots! So far we’ve had to do very little to maintain the veggie garden. It’s been raining like crazy, which all the little seedlings love,  but also sunny and warm. And we’ve been lucky so far that our garden friends have steered clear…I think the bird feeder is helping 🙂

I hope this is all a good sign that we’ll have a hearty harvest!
