Weekend Wind-Up

June 27, 2011

There were two themes to this past weekend: Errands and Cooking.

Errands. We ran a lot of errands. Errands such as:

  • Farmers Market (we picked up zucchini, peppers, asparagus, peas and a pound of stewing beef)
  • Marks Work Warehouse (sandals and shorts for A)
  • Loblaws (groceries)
  • Homesense (new quilt set for our bedroom)
  • Canadian Tire (stuff to start seedlings indoors, gardening gloves, bamboo stakes)

As for cooking, we (I) made:

  • Slow cooker chili, using the stewing beef from the market
  • Banana muffins, which turned into banana loaf once I remembered I’d thrown out my muffin tins a couple of months ago when I notice they were rusty
  • Grilled sausage and roast vegetable pasta with vodka sauce and goat cheese, which we served my parents who came over for supper on Sunday night

And that’s really it! I think it’s enough, don’t you?

Sidenote: We had intended to do some work on the back garden by putting down river stone, but turns out the landscaping supply companies in our area are closed on Sundays. Huh.
