Getting My Craft On

April 30, 2011

Sometimes I like to get my craft on. I’m not excessively creative and generally most of those energies are directed towards cooking or baking, but sometimes I get the urge to use those creative juices in a different way.

Such a way presented itself the other night. I’m heading off to a baby shower today for my good friend M2! She’s one of several friends who are going to be popping out a little bundle of joy this year. It’s babypalooza out there people!

Anyways, I picked up her shower gift(s) on Thursday night, but forgot to get something to wrap it with. By the time I got home, there was no way I wanted to head out again, so I decided to raid what I call my ‘craft cupboard’ (it’s a set of drawers in the office closet) for ideas. Inspiration struck as I took stock of some of my supplies: acrylic paints, brushes, baby footprint stamp, labels, multi-coloured tissue paper and ribbon. All of these are leftovers from various showers (baby and bridal) I’ve thrown over the years. I’m totally the shower Queen!

Luckily, something could be done with what I had on hand:

It’s not fancy but it’s cute and I’m proud of my recycling efforts!

Congrats M2! I can’t wait to meet your new bundle when he or she arrives!
