Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2010

I had a great Halloween weekend. Really, anything would have been better than last year when I had the worst case of strep throat I’ve ever had in my life. I didn’t think I was going to get better.

Friday night I laid low. I had a quiet evening at home, knitting and watching TV. Good times!

Last night though, was the main event: a halloween party! I haven’t been to a halloween party in forever! It was awesome. I went as a goddess. I wore a Greek-style toga with a gold rope wrapped around my waist, the ends trailing down the skirt. I picked up a long blond wig from Walmart ($6!!), and topped that with a wreath of ivy and faux flowers. A little gold eye make up, a couple of sparkly fake tattoos and off I went to my friends house downtown. A bunch of us met at her place, where we had some drinks (including a and posed for pics before heading out. We tried going to this party we were told about at a warehouse, but decided not to pay the $30 cover (yikes) since the music we heard wasn’t that appealing. We didn’t want to shell out that much money for crappy music.

So instead we went to the Gladstone for karaoke and it was awesome! The music rocked, so I rocked out the whole night, dancing and singing along. Thankfully I didn’t drink too much, but I did stay over at my friends place. I got up this morning, and headed home. I needed a little recovery time, but some Tylenol and a coffee helped the healing process.

I had my first trick-or-treater earlier, in the form of my niece dressed up as a bear. Too cute! I’m trying very hard not to venture out to my front hall and eat the yummy chocolates sitting there waiting for the actual trick-or-treating to begin. A mini Wonderbar and Coffee Crisp didn’t make it.

Hey, did anyone else see the snow falling this afternoon?? The first  flakes of the season for me! I really want snow this winter, so I can ski. Fingers crossed!

Be safe tonight everyone!
